Pre searing, what do you think?
Hi guys, as someone who loves pre searing, I was thinking that it would be a very good idea to add a PvP arena to it. First off, it would help new players understand the PvP side of guild wars, which is a large part. It would also be an added incentive for Legendary Defender attempts.
The two main problems would be as follows:
1. It would be unbalanced, as level 15-20s may fight level 1-5s.
This is true, however if guild wars put in either: A level 1-5 arena, a level 5-10 arena, and a level 10-20 arena. This would prevent level 20s bashing new players! Or an auto-balance system could appear, in which teams are automatically balanced.
2. If XP is given per kill, it will undermine the difficulty of the Legendary Defender of Ascalon title.
Simple solution: Don't let XP be given per kill!
Overall, I think it would be a great idea, as it can add a new edge, and lots more fun, to pre!
Can anyone think of any more problems?
What do you think?

This was tried back in the beginning. There were mini-arenas in Ascalon City and Yak's Bend for beginning characters to PvP without the level cap in a Random Arena format. They ended up taking them out when they switched to the battle isles.
However, looking at the new expansions, there is an arena like you mentioned in Shing Jea Monestary, as well as Kamadan for low level PvP, so I'm not sure why they don't put one back for Tyria as well.

Theres not enough skills in pre-searing to make this effective. Almost everyone will have the same builds, and they won't be learning much.

Like people show much initiative with skills in higher-level PvP... ¬_¬
They're all clones, just about.

Well, most new players wont know anything about builds, and will just use the skills they want (can get 15 in pre). This wont be a load of clones, it will be a load of new, and fresh ideas.

The low level arenas in Tyria are still there, they were not moved to the Battle Isles. I'd say they are a better solution as they provide some variety of skills and gear available. Of course they are open to abuse as well.
I'm fairly indifferent about it but can't imagine such an update to a 2 year old game.

I remember my 80 consecutive streak in Ascalon.
Forge armor is hax there.
Arkantos is right. You can't play PvP with only 5 skills per class.

They could add a new outpost in pike square, and put there a Skill Trainer just as the Guild Hall currently is: All ALREADY UNLOKED CORE skills. But with NO signet of capture.
You put it there, and people who get there with a partner, get the post and can buy already unloked skills for his two chosen professions.
That would be criminal, since people could use things like Meteor shower against the Charr... but they could make it so if you exit from that outpost charr are level 24, so it would be even funnier, XD...
This is mainly a joke, but also a way to say that the only way to allow a permanent area in PreAscalon would be lettng people choose more combinations, and only by buying more skills they could do that.

I thought they locked elite skills in the low-level arenas.

There is a PvP arena - it is in the transition from Pre-Searing to Post-Searing.

Agree with piken arena/skill trainer.
I also think that presearing in general should just have more skills from quests.
